They had really had a horrible two weeks. Lots of running, little sleep. So little sleep that Bodie had even fallen asleep in the middle of a debriefing with Cowley. But it was only when Freddy from the HQ garage informed Cowley that the lads had ditched their Capris and taken a taxi home that Cowley asked Miss Walsh for advice.
And she had a wonderful idea about what to do with these tired lads. "Well George", she said. "you know I have this little quiet cottage in the forest on the Greek coast. Give them a week there. They've earned it." Mr Cowley beamed at her words. "Wonderful idea, Elizabeth. This will be a surprise for them. And afterwards, they will be better than ever."
So, when they left the building young Sherman Banks called after them. "Bodie, Doyle. Wait a minute. I have something from Mr Cowley for you!"
They turned around and leaned wearily against the counter. "What is it?" Bodie yawned.
"I don't know, he only told me to give you these things and tell you that you have one week's leave now", Sherman answered and pushed the objects lying on the counter over to them.
"Wow, look at this, Bodie. These are our passports and flight tickets to Greece. And keys and a note." Doyle collected the note while Bodie stared at the passports and keys.
"Come one, Bodie. We have a flight to catch", Doyle shouted and pushed him out of HQ.
After a three-and-a-half-hour flight, they landed in Thessaloniki, from where they had to drive for a good hour before stopping at the forest path described by Miss Walsh.
"Okay, now we have to walk, let's take the picnic basket and start walking", the always-hungry Bodie said.
The cottage they found was very cosy and decorated with love.
"Oh, I really could fall down and go to sleep", Doyle said. "But we should bring the rest into the cottage and I should drive the car to the official parking area. So let's go."
They went back and while Doyle moved the car Bodie took the guitars to the cottage. 'It'll be nice to have a campfire and play the guitar.' he thought to himself.
Ten minutes later, Doyle walked across the same path carrying a basket. 'I wonder what Bodie will say to my surprise,' he thought to himself. 'I hope he'll say Yes'
When he arrived Bodie was lying on the bed asleep. Doyle woke him with a kiss and when Bodie looked at him in surprise, he gave him the surprise gift.
"I've wanted to tell you for a long time that I love you. And that I'm in love with you. But somehow it never happened, so I thought it's now or never."
"Oh Ray, I love you too," Bodie beamed. "Come to bed and let's celebrate."
They celebrated Christmas and New Year and their love. And after the cake had been eaten, the champagne was drunk and they had shown their love to each other several times, they fell into an exhausted sleep.

They didn't find the heating before they went to bed and even though it's Greece, it is cold in the evening and at the night. So they had to put on their clothes again before falling asleep. But for naked Rainlads see my icon. *g*
I have five days of leave at the end of January and one of my self-set tasks is to put all my stories into pdf. *g*
