BD Solstice (Josey)
(Solstice pic by [livejournal.com profile] empty_mirrors aka Josey)

I'm hoping to make a proper post later today (possibly much later today...) but to start with - Happy Winter Solstice (and of course Summer Solstice for anyone down under *g*)!

It's still dark, as I write this at 7.29am, but the sun will rise soon on the shortest day of the year, and then it's all returning light after that! *g*

For this first post at the start of the shortest day, I have found some Winter Solstice stories, for a Winter Solstice Story List!

Holly Golly by Asymphototropic (in ProsLib)
In Hot Water: an Idyll by JM (in ProsLib)
The Longest Shortest Day by Slantedlight
Ordinary Magic: A Tale of the Winter Solstice by Mizelle (in ProsLib)
Perfect Alignment by Slantedlight
Red Christmas by Cassie Ingaben

This was just a quick search, and I'm sure there must be more, so please do suggest stories, and I'll add them to the list. And otherwise - happy reading! *g*

I am anxious to read all of these, but until I post on Jan 27, I'm waiting to read these stories. I am so concerned about my post. Since it's 20 pages long, should I do an lj cut (if I can remember how to do so). Thanks again for all the links.

Thanks for the info about the lj-cut. I plan to post early in the morning so if I make a mistake, I can try it again later on. Thanks for the help.

Help!

I cannot figure out how to post. I've got a draft set up with the lj-cut, but I can't figure out how to post it. It doesn't look anything like what I'm used to. Can you tell me how to get to the form like I'm typing on so that I can post. I hit post and it just creates a draft, but doesn't go anywhere else. I am so stupid. Help!

My page after hitting POST does not go to the HTML or Visual page at all. It keeps going to the page with Title and not allowing me anywhere to hit a button to post. It posted the story on my LJ page (longstrt) but doesn't allow me to post to the community page.

I don't know how to do that. I'm one step above the primordial ooze when it comes to computers and posting. I just don't understand. The page you showed on your screenshot, looks nothing like mine when I go to that URL. It's been hours and I can't seem to get to the posting page like the one I'm typing on now. I can't even originate a message on this site, I have to wait for you to post so I can reply to you, otherwise I can't do anything because there's no mechanism to post the draft.

Yes, I would love you to post it. I don't even know what you mean by modern version. This page I'm typing on says Back to the Old Field and you can go to the modern field. Is that what you mean? I told you at the beginning that I didn't seem to recognize this format of the lj. Maybe that's what happened.

Thanks so much; I really appreciate your help. The Old Field has the html markings around the sentences is the only thing I notice, but there could be other things, I guess. Shows you how long it's been since I've used lj.

I would love to have you post it. Can you get to my lj so you can copy and paste. I have trouble even getting to that but I did notice that the story was on there (I think) but it was so long ago now that I saw it, I could have dreamt that. Besides I don't think the lj cut on there is correct.
