Hope I'm not too late to contribute! I kinda threw this together as soon as I got back home from ZebraCon so please forgive me if it needs refining. I didn't want to be too late.
Crimson's drawing was absolutely beautiful and made me want to see what Bodie did next. Many thanks to Crimson for her inspirational drawing!

Maybe someone would be willing to write a little story about what happened between Crimson's drawing and mine. ;-) That would be wonderful!

Date: 2007-09-20 04:22 am (UTC)BTW, I had a glimpse of paris7am's article of ZebraCon, she mentioned your portraits of Bodie and Doyle. These are incredibly gorgeous!!!! Whenever I see your masterpieces, I can't help being impressed! You're a professional artist, aren't you?

Date: 2007-09-20 10:04 pm (UTC)Thanks so much for your very kind comment! I'm very pleased you liked my painting! You are very sweet. :-) I *loved* your drawing of B&D kissing--it was beautifully done and just gorgeous!
Thanks for letting me know about the ZebraCon update by paris7am--she did a great job describing what happened there and I was surprised and pleased to see she had photographed my two paintings in the auction. I do have a number of new paintings I've not posted yet, two of them are the ones she photographed.
Young Bodie: Mean and Moody (http://www.lorrainebrevig.com/MeanandMoody.htm)
Doyle's Green Eyes (http://www.lorrainebrevig.com/DoylesGreenEyes.htm)
Touch (http://www.lorrainebrevig.com/Touch1.htm)
Thank you again for your very kind words. I'm not a professional artist--I tried to be one after I finished school but I failed. :-/ I went back to school and now am a painting conservator, which means I restore old and damaged paintings. :-)
Take care and thanks again for your very kind comments! Keep doing your beautiful drawings! :-)

Date: 2007-09-20 05:30 am (UTC)The play of light over their skin, especially over Bodie's face is exquisite. Bodie's expression flawless and has so many emotions playing over it, and I love it.
I love the way you have Ray's hand look like it has fallen away from it's resting place.
That hand gently pulling Ray close. *sighs*
The blue of the sky subtly peeping through the nets, to me, heralding that's it all gonna be alright from here on in.
Oh I could go on, I really could. But I will just say that I 'love' it 'so much', and that because in someway I managed to inspire this amazing painting, has made me feel incredibly elated, honoured and also very humbled all at the same time.
They say 'a picture paints a thousand words', this one really does, in so many ways.
Thanks so much for sharing this with us, it is truly wonderful.
And thank you for your kind words. :)

Date: 2007-09-20 11:30 pm (UTC)Thanks so much for the inspiration--I had a great time doing this. I just wish I'd seen the challenge a bit earlier as I can see things I'd like to change, but that's how it always is, isn't it? ;-)Thanks so much again for your wonderful drawing--none of these fantastic stories or my painting would have existed without it. :-)

Btw, saw the pics from ZebraCon, another *Aww* moment for your paintings, how I envy the new owner :sigh:

Date: 2007-09-20 12:23 pm (UTC)Right, okay, I did not see the original prompt, so I'm off to view that. But this is gorgeous. Everything that everyone else has said, but it's the emotion shimmering between them that is grabbing me. Bodie's expression...what's Doyle's like? Is there tension there, or...? Oh, man, I'm going to be useless at work today.
Thank you! *g*

Date: 2007-09-21 12:34 am (UTC)I keep thinking about your wonderful story with your beautiful illustrations. I love the idea of Doyle as a frustrated artist as I relate to that desire to have been a successful artist but failing and having to choose a different path. So your story resonated with me quite a bit. Bodie being the support he needed to gain confidence in his work was incredibly sweet--and I liked that Bodie wasn't always nice about it but gave him a kick in the pants when he needed it. Great story! :-) Thank you very much--that one's seriously a keeper.
Take care and thanks again!
