Resting his trainer on the Capri’s dashboard, Doyle complained, “Will you stop with that ridiculous song. You’ve been humming it all day!”

“Tis the season mate, “Bodie replied with a teasing smile.

“Season or not, Cowley’s getting a bill to get my clothes clean. It’ll take forever to get all the sodding glitter off my jeans.”

Bodie reached over and ruffled Doyle’s hair. A shower of gold sparkles cascaded down the front of Doyle’s shirt.

Doyle shot him a glare. “Who would think we’d find a Russian spy in a Christmas shop?”

“You looked good in the silver tinsel, too!”

“And where were you, partner, when the thug tried to extract my teeth with his fist?”

The humming started again.

“Keep going with that song and you’ll be needing the dentist for more than two front teeth!”

“Not a fan of Spike Jones?”

“Just take me home, Bodie. I need a shower. This crap itches.”

With another quick rendition of the song’s chorus, Bodie drove Doyle to his flat. As Doyle got out of the car he caught Bodie watching his exit.

“If you’ve been good, you might have a chance at what you really want for Christmas.” Doyle smirked and with a tempting sway of his hips, he walked away from the car.

Bodie quickly jumped out of the Capri and slid across the bonnet. Wrapping Doyle up in his arms he quietly whispered in Doyle’s ear, “All I really want for Christmas is you.”

Title: Bodie's Wish

Notes: Inspired by my 7 year old Grandson who is missing his front teeth. The song was originally written by a second grade teacher and recorded by Spike Jones and his City Slickers as silly Christmas song that became a kid’s favourite. (Isn’t it amazing the things we can somehow tie to our lads!)

Bodie driving Doyle nuts is always a good thing when it ends in snogging. Nicely done! Thanks, M.
