For the two-day drabble challenge. All exactly 100 words.
Drabble I - It’s time for Bodie to make a decision.
It was time Bodie made some decisions.
It was time for him to choose.
To chose birds or Ray.
Sweet-smelling softness or masculine firmness.
The taste of lipstick or of booze.
Smooth, curved breasts or hairy, firm chest.
Hair stiff with hairspray or soft tangled curls.
Fresh flowery perfume or tired musky aftershave.
Love ‘em and leave ‘em or love him and keep him.
One-night stands or a lifetime commitment.
Yeah. It was time Bodie made some decisions.
But really there was no choice.
There never had been.
It was simple.
It was Ray.
Always had been. Always would be.
Drabble II - Doyle realises where home is. (Sap).
Doyle reached out and touched Bodie’s arm. An electric shock shot through him. Never before had touching someone caused this reaction.
For the first time in his life he knew he’d come home. Home to a place he never wanted to leave. Never intended to leave.
“Bodie?” His voice faltered. He was almost afraid to speak. To risk it. To risk all.
“Yeah, Ray?” Bodie’s tone was warm; reassuring; loving.
Suddenly Ray knew: Bodie had felt it too.
“I love you, Bodie.” Suddenly the words were so simple to say, and to mean.
“Love you, too, sunshine. Forever, eh?”
“Forever.”
Drabble III - Bodie wants answers to his questions. (Pure dialogue, humour-ish).
“Well?”
“Well what?”
“Will you?”
“Will I what?”
“Stop bleeding pissing around, Doyle, and answer me.”
“I would if you asked me a bleeding question I could answer.”
“Shall we?”
“What now?”
“No, next year.”
“There’s no need to be sarcastic.”
“Then stop being a prat.”
“You can talk.”
“Right. Last chance: yes or no?”
“Yes or no what?”
“Yes or no will you come with me to the new Batman film?”
“Course I will, sunshine. All you had to do was ask.”
“Come on, then.”
“One condition.”
“What?”
“You hold me hand during the scary bits.”
“Don’t I always?”
Drabble IV - Doyle’s problem is he cares, too much.
Ray cares.
He cares too much.
He cares too much about everything.
Blames himself for the invention of gunpowder.
Blames himself for all the wrongs.
Tried to tell him not to.
Tried to teach him how not to care. Least not so much.
In the end though, I didn’t try too hard.
Why?
Because if Ray didn’t care like he does, wasn’t the caring man he was, well . . .
Well, he wouldn’t be my Ray, would he?
And he is. Mine.
And I want to keep him that way.
Over-caring; sarcastic; loving; irascible; soft-hearted; temperamental; generous; irritable; altogether dichotomous.
My Ray.

Thank you, Zoe. I'm glad you liked them so much and that the Batman one made you giggle.
