We had twenty-four captions this year - not bad going when there are fewer and fewer of us, and they all made me smile! As usual, everyone has three votes - one for each picture. Please don't vote for your own caption - let us know who else made you giggle the most!
Voting will be closed, and winners will be announced on the 24th December - happy ticky-boxes-ing!

(I had to edit the second-last caption for Picture 3 to make it fit. The original was: "The first stop on the CI5 hot cocoa crawl was not going well. Cowley is irritated there’s no pure malt scotch to spike his with, Bodie is irritated there are no Swiss rolls to accompany his, and Doyle is wondering how the bloody hell he’s going to keep drinking three cups at each stop.")

Date: 2025-12-15 03:20 pm (UTC)"If Cowley keeps us on watch all night, do you think we'll see Father Christmas?" I chose this option because I think it would make a beautiful story. Something like Ray showing his naivety by believing in Christmas miracles, and the fact that he has never actually seen Santa is something that has been with him since childhood (I firmly believe that we all have dreams like that which obviously will never come true because they are not real, but...). And that on the night of 24 December, the bad guys hurt them, but especially Bodie, and Ray calls for help, but no one comes... And then Santa appears!!! And he heals Bodie (because it's Christmas Magic), and then Santa gives each of them a present and says, "These are the presents you were going to give each other, right? I think this moment is as good as any to give them..." And it turns out that both Ray and Bodie were going to give each other those gifts and confess their feelings to each other with a letter as soon as they finished the job. Santa saves them the trouble, ha ha ha! And so Ray is happy to know that Bodie loves him too and to have seen Santa in person, fulfilling his childhood dream.
