Okay, I have a confession - my story isn't quite finished, so this is kind of a place-holder post. It would have been finished, except that about twenty minutes ago my other laptop, the one I was writing on, completely black-screened on me, and I lost the last five minutes of writing I'd done. So I had to mess around, and thank goodness got it to start up again and rescued the rest of my story and sent it fast to myself by email, but... now it's quarter to midnight, and not only do I not have time to finish before midnight, but I have work tomorrow morning, so... Waaaah!
So I have posted all but the last few paragraphs (which are only written in my head) below, and I really recommend that you don't read them yet! I will try and finish tomorrow, and then remove this header from the post so that you can see it's done and ready to read.
And I was having a perfectly good winter solstice day until that happened!

Date: 2025-12-22 02:36 am (UTC)Oh, how sad...!!! I'm going to be VERY nosy with this question: What programme do you use to write fanfiction? Microsoft Word? LibreOffice Writer? Does it have an option to automatically save your work every, say, one or two minutes? That option has saved my life more than once, hahahaha!!!

Date: 2026-01-01 05:59 am (UTC)I have configured my Word to save EVERY MINUTE. I don't trust the crazy things computers tend to do, not to mention power cuts... I also don't trust writing in Word from the cloud, for example (I use OneDrive). I used that feature at my old job until one bad day... The perfect idea I had simply wasn't saved! To this day, I haven't been able to rewrite it... I hope you can post the fic soon, and also on AO3, so I can give you kudos with both my accounts!
