Title: Still of the Night

Prompt: Fog

The cold chill of the night coupled with the dense fog helped to hide him in the shadows.
Lurking there like a spy. No, not a spy; a spider waiting to kill the prey.
Except...
...he didn’t want to kill.
He didn’t even want to spy.
In reality, he didn’t even want to be there.
It was like a compulsion; like he had to be there or die.
The fascination had increased day by day, night by night, until the magnet had drawn him close.
And so he watched.
Silently in the dark.
Waiting for the right time to strike.

I like this, but I'm confused. Who is he? Who is he watching? It's a compelling image, but I'd love to know more.

:shiver: Very atmospheric - this needs to be a series, my friend. You set it up so well and now I want to know MORE!!

Wow, that one gave me goose bumps. Who's watching who and why? From the atmosphere and the mixed emotion I'd say Bodie's watching Doyle, not knowing what else he could do. Right - that one screams for a sequel. I can hear it loud and clear!

Most intriguing - and poetic. Love the spy/spider thing. More would be cool! :)

You have me pondering. Who's after who? Good idea, making me think about this one. So many possibilities. Thanks.

Tossing out a thought. This reminds me of the beginning of "Whisper of a Kill". I could see Bodie lurking, thinking this.

Yeah, I like that you've done that. Gives me something to ponder.

Interesting. My money's on Bodie watching Doyle too.

I can so imagine this as Bodie, patiently waiting for the moment when everything is perfect to make his move on Ray.

Not only have you painted such imagery but made it so thought provoking too.

Really lovely honey, I thoroughly enjoyed this.
Thank so much for sharing this with us. :)

Great! Did you mean it to be a poem? Because it is. I've been writing drabble poems for my original character muse and I love reading other people's!
