Drabble, drabble!

This one is a companion to Journey, though it stands alone.

As for why I wrote another drabble? It wasn't my fault. I had to save the plot bunny. It was approaching critical mass.



Switching Drivers

Everyone knows Bodie’s lost the match. Doyle has him pinned. Macklin’s shouting something about ladies and tea parties.

Doyle’s wondering why Bodie hasn’t tapped out. Why he’s motionless, staring pensively across the mats as if he’s trying to work something out in his mind.

But Bodie’s not a thinker. He’s a soldier. Strong, silent, and thick as two short planks. Doyle knew everything there was to know about his new partner two minutes after meeting him.

Bodie twists suddenly. Before Doyle realizes what’s happened, he’s on his back, an arm across his throat.

“You don’t know anything yet,” says Bodie.

LOL! You really did it - yay. Love the way Bodie made it clear that he's NOT a stupid, thick soldier. And I generally love the picture of Bodie pinning Doyle - or vice versa *G* Keep going!

Well, yeah... ;-) Writing a good fight scene is almost as fun as writing good sex. All those half-naked male bodies writhing, sweaty, straining... mmm...

I'm absolutely hooked on UFC for just that reason, though I try not to ogle the fighters too obviously when my husband and brother-in-law are in the room.

Well, and EH kept a virtual ruler next to the computer to thwack my knuckles every time I looked like I was getting greedy and hogging the comm. I'm so lucky to have her.

You know in all their years, I think Bodie will keep surprising his partner like this. Just when Doyle thinks his assumptions about his partner are spot on, he'll do it again.
