Title: Memories.

Prompt: Pocket watch

It didn’t seem right.
Going through things that had meaning once upon a time, and held a million memories. Ideas, thoughts, and feelings, that *he* had felt.
The pocket watch felt strong in his hand. The time ticking away as it had done since the day it’d been bought.
Like an egg timer counting down the days to death. A morbid view but true.
“Ray?”
“What?”
“Look at this. It’s his watch. Wonder how long he had it. Wonder what memories it holds.”
A single glance.
“You always were his blue eyed boy.”
“I know. I’ll miss Cowley.”
“I know.”

Aw, that's very sad! But sweet, too. I was wondering right up to the end who was dead. I like it!

Oh God, you killed the Cow! (Hides under bed whimpering)

But yes, that watch would have witnessed a great deal of history, both public and very personal. Oh dear. Must stop now before I invite any sordid bunnies into my home.

Lovely use of the watch symbolism for both the passing of time and of Cowley's life.

Smn killed the Cow! But you did it beautifully and made the whole moment very sweet without being sickly - well done!

Gods, that's so sad and so beautiful. I'd miss the old man too. You know, I first thought that it was Doyle who was dead. No idea why. Great drabble.

Beautifully done - sad, but they'll have each other and remember him and perpetuate his legacy ... ::sniff::

You know for a death drabble this is beautifully done. It's sad, and yet you have taken the focus not only off of our lovely dear Cow, but placed it on the watch and the passage of time, it also focuses on the sadness of those left behind. I love it. Thank you! ((hugs))

Good heavens, but now I am misty-eyed. Very sad, but nicely done. It's a good thing it's not longer! I'd be hunting for a tissue. Thank you.

Sad, but touching and evocative.
