Here's a sequel to Adrift. With a big thank you to [livejournal.com profile] heliophile_oxon for the idea.

Safe Harbour

Doyle's new flat isn't at all like the old one, thank Christ. Bodie couldn't walk through that door without seeing Doyle on the floor, his face bone white, his blood leeching into the carpet.

Things besides the flat have changed. The terrarium's gone, for a start. Bodie dumped that in the rubbish himself. The poor cow might have gone and died, but he wasn't having anything made by Mayli Kuolo in Ray's flat.

Some things, however, are the same: the toy soldiers, Doyle's records, his battered books. And most important of all, Doyle himself, Bodie's safe harbour in any storm.

Oh that's so sweet. I loved the thought of Bodie dumping the terrarium, and of Doyle being his safe harbour.

The poor cow might have gone and died, but he wasn't having anything made by Mayli Kuolo in Ray's flat. Excellent line- and a very Bodie thought. And very much in keeping that he threw the terrarium out himself ( tho' you might want to change it to 'bin' or 'rubbish' from trash:)).

Gods, that's so wonderful - I love. Things have changed but they're both still alive. Safe harbours for each other. Just beautiful.

Perfect! The differences in the flat and in some (hah!) of the possessions, but Ray is there, alive and safe and Bodie's haven ... just lovely!

Nope, credit's all yours! Happy if I jogged your elbow, though!

Nice details! I like the idea of Bodie ditching the terrarium. :-)

Ah, and everything turns out for the best. Don't blame Bodie dumping that thing. Just have to have each other. It's the natural order of things.
Thank you.

And thank you for sharing.

*sniffle* This is wonderful. And I'm glad Bodie tossed that crap out. Thanks!
