Discovered In A Drabble
Sep. 24th, 2007 12:25 amWell that went down well! *g* A big thank you, again, to
loyseofverlaine and
moth2fic, who between them set the ball rolling - there were more than fifty Pros drabbles in the end, from writers old and new! So thank you everyone who drabbled, too! It was absolutely fantastic to see so much Pros through my flist this weekend, just... stunning.
Speaking of people who drabbled - Circuit archivist
justacat wonders if anyone would like their drabbles archived, since most people didn't include our usual trailer - see the User Info page!
If you would like your drabbles archived either online at Circuit or at ProsLib, then please complete this trailer, and post it in a reply to this comment below (you don't need to re-post the drabble, just the trailer):

Notes: If you wrote more than one drabble, please let the archivists know if it's okay to include them all in a single document, or if you have any other instructions.
I expect a link to your drabble would be handy for the archivists too, if you can manage it, to save them scrolling through the posts, but if not don't worry!
And do remember that [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] isn't archiving automatically any more, so any time you would like your fic archived at The Hatstand (and personally I love that there are different formats to choose from when reading!), please email her at hatstander @ yahoo.ca with a link to your drabble.
empty_mirrors has been hard at work tagging all the drabbles, so they will as ever be accessible through the User Info page. I rather think that we'll also include them in the pdf version of Dialj Bound: Discovered In 1977, perhaps as a sort of interlude chapter... *g* If you'd rather your drabble wasn't included, then do let me know below as well!
And finally - keep your eyes on
discoveredinalj tomorrow... It's the end of September, there's a new challenge just around the corner... *g*

Date: 2007-09-24 10:20 am (UTC)*has only just discovered that writers are allowed to offer their own fic for archiving (in any fandom)*
I thoroughly enjoyed the avalanche we set off! I think drabbles are a fascinating form! I just wish I hadn't been away all weekend and had to catch up on Monday morning - some of my comments were a bit brief as a result but I read everything and loved it all! I could have written more myself, given time, so maybe we should make it an annual event of some kind? Perhaps with themed prompts next time?

Date: 2007-09-25 07:04 am (UTC)The trailers include information for the archivists, but also any "spoiler" information for readers that the author might want to put in (not compulsory), and an individual disclaimer, although we have one on the User Info page too, to hopefully cover the whole site.
We'll definitely do it again some time, it did make a nice break from the longer challenges, didn't it! Nice idea, you! Hmmn - themed prompts - could do! Might depend when we do another one - was quite nice this time (well, for me anyway!) to break away from having the 1977 theme, briefly! But Discovered In 1977 will be over in January, and we probably won't do another one before then, so yeah, why not!

Date: 2007-09-25 11:03 am (UTC)I've emailed justacat. I couldn't work out how to link from the comm so I just sent her the drabbles from my hard drive - I didn't post them on my LJ. Maybe I should. I've had too much to do, writing-wise, recently. So why I set off a cascade of drabbles I have no idea - but I enjoyed them!
