Well that went down well! *g* A big thank you, again, to [livejournal.com profile] loyseofverlaine and [livejournal.com profile] moth2fic, who between them set the ball rolling - there were more than fifty Pros drabbles in the end, from writers old and new! So thank you everyone who drabbled, too! It was absolutely fantastic to see so much Pros through my flist this weekend, just... stunning.

Speaking of people who drabbled - Circuit archivist [livejournal.com profile] justacat wonders if anyone would like their drabbles archived, since most people didn't include our usual trailer - see the User Info page!

If you would like your drabbles archived either online at Circuit or at ProsLib, then please complete this trailer, and post it in a reply to this comment below (you don't need to re-post the drabble, just the trailer):

Notes: If you wrote more than one drabble, please let the archivists know if it's okay to include them all in a single document, or if you have any other instructions.

I expect a link to your drabble would be handy for the archivists too, if you can manage it, to save them scrolling through the posts, but if not don't worry!

And do remember that [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] isn't archiving automatically any more, so any time you would like your fic archived at The Hatstand (and personally I love that there are different formats to choose from when reading!), please email her at hatstander @ yahoo.ca with a link to your drabble.

[livejournal.com profile] empty_mirrors has been hard at work tagging all the drabbles, so they will as ever be accessible through the User Info page. I rather think that we'll also include them in the pdf version of Dialj Bound: Discovered In 1977, perhaps as a sort of interlude chapter... *g* If you'd rather your drabble wasn't included, then do let me know below as well!

And finally - keep your eyes on [livejournal.com profile] discoveredinalj tomorrow... It's the end of September, there's a new challenge just around the corner... *g*

I can't archive without a title - I need to call it something in order to put it in the database and have it accessible! (Title and author are absolutely required for archiving; most other things are optional.) I can make something up myself, if you'd like ("Pros Drabble," perhaps??), but then you're stuck with what I come up with ... *g* I'd prefer to have a bit of guidance from you! :-D

Apologies!

So can I put the first four together (under the title "Drabbles," or alternatively, all four titles - "Armistice, Culture Clash, Elaborate, and Overnight") and the second three together? Just want to make sure I'm clear...

Date: 2007-09-24 10:50 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] myrebelcat.livejournal.com
The first four are completely unconnected to each other. The second three are a series (kinda - they also stand alone). I thought "In the Driver's Seat" might be a good title for those three together, though they also each have their own titles, so you don't have to use it.

Does that make sense? :-)

Oh wait! I think I get what you're asking - you mean, can you archive them all on one page?

I have no issues with that, if it's easier. Throw in a note about them all having been written for the DIALJ 2-day challenge and I'm good.

Is it okay to put them in one document if it's made clear that they are unrelated (I do this often with drabbles, because as Josey says below, it's a lot to ask people to click for 100 words - they're more likely to go to the document if it has a bit more - but it's up to you)? Or must they be in three separate documents?

And also - would you like me to include email addy for you on the Archive? (They're encoded to prevent spambots.)

Please include my e-mail addy harmageddon at t-online dot de.

Together is fine with the names in the title. Asking people to click for just 100 words always seems a bit much. I'd appreciate it if you could make it clear that they're seperate though. Not a drabble series.

Thanks.

*wishes she had time to work out this tagging business*

*has only just discovered that writers are allowed to offer their own fic for archiving (in any fandom)*

I thoroughly enjoyed the avalanche we set off! I think drabbles are a fascinating form! I just wish I hadn't been away all weekend and had to catch up on Monday morning - some of my comments were a bit brief as a result but I read everything and loved it all! I could have written more myself, given time, so maybe we should make it an annual event of some kind? Perhaps with themed prompts next time?

If you want your drabble(s) archived, if you could link me to them here, or email them to me (archivist at thecircuitarchive dot com or justacat66 at yahoo dot com) - also let me know what name you want to be listed under on the Archive, and if you want an email address listed there (I encode them to prevent spambots). That's all you have to do!

These trailers are just to let me (and [livejournal.com profile] hagsrus, for the Proslib CD) know whether you want your stories archived. We are willing to undertake the effort of keeping track of these communities and archiving anything the authors want archived - the authors just have to confirm for us that it's okay and give us some basic info! Tagging is something you don't have to worry about - the community mods do that.

It wouldn't need to be one of the main themes - you could just set a drabble theme e.g. cars or guns or hairstyles and every response would have to be to do with that theme, however vaguely. That way you'd get your 'break'!

I've emailed justacat. I couldn't work out how to link from the comm so I just sent her the drabbles from my hard drive - I didn't post them on my LJ. Maybe I should. I've had too much to do, writing-wise, recently. So why I set off a cascade of drabbles I have no idea - but I enjoyed them!
