It's winter time again...

Discovered In The Brandy Butter!
So… 'tis a gloomy Monday, the 12th of November, and as the skeletal branches of winter trees stretch their way to the cloud-thick skies, a girl's thoughts naturally turn to… the lads at Christmas! Well, during winter festivals of light, of one sort or another. *g* The shops are already strewn with red and green and sparkle, there are berries in the hedgerows, and candles are starting to look just right flickering their little orange hearts out on a windowsill. All of which means that this post is to announce the
If you'd like to participate this year, then all you need to do is choose a date from the calendar, and then post something Pros-y and somehow (at least vaguely!) seasonal on that day. It doesn't have to be Christmas-y at all, but at this time of year in the Northern hemisphere, throughout history, people have used the long cold nights as an excuse to burn fires, make light, and be happy, so who're we to play about with tradition? *g* It could be inspired by
This year, we're also including a prompt for each day of the calendar, so if you'd like something extra to be inspired by - well, Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat... and we'd all like some figgy pudding, so bring some right here!. Food. It's all about winter food! We said it was a celebration, right? *g*
Oh, and Discovered In The Brandybutter is also the final part of the 30-Years-of-Pros celebration Discovered in 1977 Challenge, so if your creation fits in with that too, even better!
The hope is that people will receive something Pros in their flist (or by visiting the comm) every day leading up to Christmas, and through to the New Year. Obviously the more people who take part the better it will be, and the more days we'll have something posted. Last year's Discovered In The Mistletoe ended up being 40 days long - so many people offered to post, that we filled the entire calendar and had to add some extra days - now wouldn't it be nice if that happened again..?
It doesn't have to be fic that's posted either (though that's always brill, obviously), it could be art, or vids, or icons or other graphics of course, but it could also be something completely different. Last year we had a quotes challenge, hanjiis, caption contests - all sorts of inspired things!
As ever, we're happy to post for you, if you'd rather not do it yourself for any reason (such as Christmas being a hugely busy time for many people!) And if you'd like to offer "extra content" that can be slotted into days nobody has claimed that would be gratefully received as well! Please contact either one of us via the email addresses on the User Info page.
Please sign up as soon as possible (so that we can organise for whatever days appear to be empty etc) but feel free to sign up any time the comm is running – if you're suddenly inspired on 16th December to post on the 17th, and it's still an empty day, then comment below and go for it! Oh, except that the 25th is already full of Christmas-y goodness… sorry!
To sign up, please comment below with the date/s you would like to post or have your work/creation posted. We will then snag your icon to block off those day/s for you on the calendar. Then all you need to do is post on that day! And the icons on the calendar will then also become links to your post!
So… anyone interested? *g*
