As some of you know, I've been working on this for months. I have been vacillating about posting it for the Thirty Years challenge for days now and I've finally decided to subject all who are willing to my efforts. In order to be up front about this vid, I'm letting everybody know it is long, it is not what "the vidding community" considers technically correct, and it is plain fantasy. But it is older lads. So if anybody would like to download this monster and give it a look, I sincerely hope you enjoy it. And many thanks to those who encouraged me to keep going during the dark days. *bg*

Date: 2008-03-30 06:25 pm (UTC)I don't know why TPTB worry about fandom - this vid has inspired me to buy the Judge Deed DVDs when I'm over in the UK (and worry about how I'll play them later *G*). I'd never even have thought about that without seeing this vid.

Date: 2008-03-30 06:47 pm (UTC)I think you'll enjoy The Judge. Amazon.uk has great sales on these off and on. That's where I got mine. But I admit, I still see "Doyle" when I watch it.

Date: 2008-03-30 08:17 pm (UTC)Great use of clips, and the words of the song were perfect.
As for not being technically correct, well I'm no vidder but I know if a vid looks good and sounds good, and this one pressed all the right buttons for me. I'm so glad that you did keep going (and thanks to everyone who encouraged you too!)

Loved the comparisons ... metal outdoor setting; shaving; fencing; drinking; buses; sleeping ... and a rear view shot of the Judge.
Thank you.

Date: 2008-03-31 11:34 am (UTC)Wow!
This is stupendous. It really, really is.
I love it.
I really like how you've used black & white for Ray 'now' and also how in many places you echoed the 'now' shots of him alone with the 'then' shots of Bodie & Doyle.
This really is an amazing songvid. Truly one of the best I've seen.
Thank you SO much for sharing this piece of joy.
I'm curious why doesn't 'the vidding community' consider it to be technically correct?

Date: 2008-03-31 09:08 pm (UTC)The technical problem that all the clips aren't the same aspect ratio. The program is was using (Windows Movie Maker) doesn't have the ability to either change each clip to the same aspect and/or allow me to cut off the black bars and resize the clip. Most serious vidders would consider how I mixed my clips to be rather undesirable. But life is rough sometimes. *beg*
Thanks again!

Date: 2008-04-01 11:20 am (UTC)Ah, you know I didn't even notice - so there you go. I was so caught up in the overall enjoyment. To my mind people loving what you did is far more important than a few frames not being the same size as others.

Aww, I really love this! Ray (Yes, I have to call him Ray!) looks sooooooo damn sexy in his fifties. Is he Deed and Gently actually? Oh, I have to have those DVDs. Must have.
And at the end...!!!! Bodie in his fifties. *nearly falls* He looks so gorgeous too. They're a definitely OTP, aren't they?
Thank you for making this vid. I really enjoyed it. How stupid I was to overlook this post!? *headdesk*
