"Bloody hell, Bodie! Does Her Majesty know about this coup you've been planning?"

Bodie grinned, "Good, innit? Here." He threw a gun at Doyle, who had to catch it one handed as a box of ammunition came sailing along a split second later. Still grinning, Bodie moved off and began peeling bits of tarpaulin covers off various boxes and crates, replacing them or rummaging until he found what he was looking for.

Doyle left him to it, content for the moment to simply stand and marvel at the dusty lock-up Bodie had brought him to. Illuminated by a single lightbulb, boxes and crates were everywhere, neatly stashed around something car-sized under a tarpaulin in the centre. To his left against a cement brick wall stood a Welsh dresser, complete with the required set of china on each shelf. Doyle shook his head at the incongruity and couldn't resist. Putting the gun on a shelf and the ammunition in his jacket pocket, he eased open one of the drawers. An array of passports greeted him, together with several rolls of cash in currencies he didn't recognise. Feeling odd, as if he'd been caught snooping, he quietly closed it and turned round to find Bodie a step away.

"I...uh, was just-"

"Curious. Yeah, I know, and it's all right, mate. Wouldn't have brought you here if there was something I didn't want you to see. Here, take these."

Doyel blinked and focused on the keys Bodie was dangling between them. He looked over Bodie's shoulder at the vehicle under the covering and sighed. "Designated chauffeur am I, your Lordship? Well, it better have some bloody petrol in it and not be some ancient heap your granny left you, 's all I'm saying."

Taking the keys from Bodie's fingers, he picked up the gun and moved past Bodie, cursing freely as he caught his shin on a crate. He began to negotiate his way more carefully towards the car, when he realised Bodie hadn't followed him. His partner was still standing there in fact, with the oddest expression on his face.

"What?"

"Look at the keys for a moment will you, sunshine?"

Wondering if perhaps the shock of being outed like that to Cowley had short-circuited something, Doyle looked down at the keys in his hand.

"I'm looking, I'm looking... And?"

It was Bodie's turn to sigh theatrically and shake his head. He stepped up and took the keys out of Doyle's hand. He singled one out and held it up. "This, you ungrateful peasant, is for the nippy little Audi under the covers over there. And this..." He held up the second one, "...is to this place." He pressed both back into Doyle's palm and slowly closed Doyle's fingers over them. Bodie held Doyle's fist as he spoke and looked directly at him. "These are copies of my keys, you berk. For you. The only copies, I might add, so guard them with your bloody life, all right?"

Doyle nodded, a little afraid of how his voice would come out at what he was being trusted with. Bodie made to turn away and Doyle caught him, hooking a hand round his neck to pull him back. He kissed him hard on the mouth before he let him go. When he opened his eyes Bodie was grinning again.

"I hear you, sunshine. Now let's go see a man about a photo."

Oh! I really enjoyed this! My favorite part was Bodie handing over copies of the keys to Ray. It shows how much Bodie truly trusts him. You did a great job! Thanks for sharing!

Oh my! I love this, I love how Bodie gave him his heart and soul just in those keys, but without saying a whole lot. Fantastic part, this RR gets better and better. Mind, given that mine was the second part, it couldnt have got a lot worse, really LOL

Yay, I love how these RRs just meander off where you dont expect them to :D

I'm catching up with the RR since I've been out on walkabout. This is great! I need to go back and comment on each part but for now, let me say that I love the idea of Bodie's bolt hole, of him giving Doyle the only other set of keys, and of them being so together. Very cool.

I'd love to take the next part. I will endeavor to post something quickly. I hope I'm posting to the proper place. If not, my fault.

This RR is solid gold. Excellent installment - yes, the keys mean so much, it's so much more than matey sex between these lads. Love among the grenade launchers ...

Thank you!

Oh fabulous! And the "I hear you, sunshine" at the end after Doyle's smacker ... You know, under that brilliant, talented exterior you're just an old softie! Heh.

Oh, I did like this, especially lines like these:

He pressed both back into Doyle's palm and slowly closed Doyle's fingers over them Bodie held Doyle's fist as he spoke and looked directly at him.

...as always in your writing we get subtle romance without the slush (shudders) and the action of bodie doing what he does speaks volumes and is far louder than words (Sorry! Couldn't resist the opportunity of an awful cliche).

Very nice. Thanks!
