A little later than planned, but before the stroke of midnight, rummaging around in the stocking we found this...

...and if you click on the link below, you'll find that there's something behind that rather lovely artwork as well...

The Dialj Christmas Special 2009

Small, but rather beautifully formed - four Pros stories in an online zine for your Boxing Day laziness...

Happy Christmas!

And do feel free to leave individual feedback here for the authors and artist - they're all online and will hopefully see it!

Hello, all – hope you've got your pencils at the ready *g*. This is a short case fic with a difference - YOU do the work. Within the story there are five clues (I've given you the answer to the first one). Each is numbered, so you won't have any problems locating them. Each is a song – a title, an artist or a lyric.

Your task, should you decide to accept it, is to identify the songs and the artists, then use that information to work out what Bodie and Doyle need to know.

You can enter your answers in comments. Comments will be screened until the end of the challenge, at which time I'll reveal the answers and reply to everyone. Have fun!

Day 23 is here. . . .I'm on the west coast of the US and I was counting down the hours until I could post. . . . =0

Once again I am so lucky the [livejournal.com profile] metabolick has created a pic for my story. And to make it extra special [livejournal.com profile] biani animated part of it. Thanks to both. Happy holidays to all.

*shuffles onstage* So, many moons ago I blathered about Pros podfic

Here’s a new fic, in texty version for you to read if you want.  And here is also (*squeep*) the podfic version for you to listen to on your pooter or iPod/mp3 player if you want.  Please note that this was not recorded with super-duper microphone surround sound blah, just straight into the poot.  I have been playing with the garageband programme on my Mac ...  The links take you to Mediafire and you can then download the temporary file.  There will be a permanent link up soon I hope *is vague*.  I find it weird listening to my own voice (who is that girly person??) so I have no idea how this will come across *g*  Thanks muchly to [livejournal.com profile] callistosh65  for both beta-reading and beta-listening a gazillion years ago! PS it's not christmassy or in any way related to the prompt of Love Hearts, although the lads are, of course, love *g* It's a cuddly story related to my obsession with not being able to sleep.

'Scuse the long title, but it saves on the need for a summary of any kind as it does just what it says on the tin.*g*

Happy Holidays everyone xxxxxxx

As befitting my prompt, I am giving you the Pros Quiz I made. Actually, I know this is a bit of a cop-out and I apologise, but having been up to the hospital 3 times in 3 days, my idea for making icons sort of flew out of the window (last night we didnt get home until 1.30am, and today I've been up there from 10.30am to 2.30pm), and I'd almost forgotten today was my day until I came on LJ.

So there you are, my excuse, such as it is. And I know lots of you will not have seen this quiz so here, in all its glory, it is. I am not sure how long you will all need to complete it, so I will give you until...Boxing Day. Then I will post the answers on my own LJ so as not to clog anyone elses day. I shall screen comments (I hope!!!!) but I have never done this before so I hope it works!!!

Trivial? I dont think so! )

Enjoy!

Just realised your presents today seem to be food related (or at least the prompts were)!

The second part of your present to unwrap is a bit of fun around a recipe that I enjoy making and friends seem to enjoy eating so I thought you might enjoy it too!

Rocky Road )
[identity profile] 3745rule.livejournal.com
When you were younger did you enjoy unwrapping the presents in your stocking? I did and still do! I think there is a little of the child we once were in all of us.

The first part of your present to unwrap today was inspired by the prompt “A Satsuma”.

Special thanks go to my lovely beta byslantedlight and my special support team (you know who you are, please don’t be embarrassed) without your encouragement I would have deleted this long ago.
Enjoy!

Christmas At Home )

We had our second miss yesterday - no Christmas Stocking post, eep! Not sure what's going on this year, I don't think this has ever happened before!

Please please check the date that you volunteered to post - you've got until midnight lads' time - GMT/London time - to post anything you like! If you've changed your mind, or run out of inspiration, or had an emergency, there's no problem - just let me know and I can post extra content so that we don't have blank days. But I need to know before the end of your posting day - and preferably a few hours before, as I'm not able to stay up until midnight these days :(

Here's the calendar again, to make it easy to check your day - if you hover over the dates, you'll see who is due to post (if anyone comes up with the name of a toy/prompt instead, let me know and I'll fix it!)

With the indulgence of both [livejournal.com profile] hagsrus (whose day this really is) and our lovely mod [livejournal.com profile] byslantedlight, here is the very late day 17 Christmas stocking offering. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Cabbage Patch doll prompt, but it is the next entry in my seasonal Comfort and Joy series.

[identity profile] robeau.livejournal.com
It has no doubt been done before, and will be done again, but I needed to kill some time in a semi-constructive manner while trying to work through a story so without further ado -

[identity profile] robeau.livejournal.com
So, I had issues...who doesn't? I loved the prompt and thought it would actually make it easier as it was so perfect for B/D. But then I tried to take a half finished piece and make it work, and it didn't so I ran around freaking out about writers block - Horrors! Anyway I have no idea if it works for anyone else but I've so enjoyed all the contributions that I couldn't not post it.

And I must apologize for robeau kitty #2 who simply would not cooperate (imagine me expecting a cat to do what I asked; when I asked- what was I thinking) so her sister gets all the holiday glory - I call it 'Searching for Reindeer'!

And here is my second little song inspired ficlet. Trust me when I say the connection between the song and the fic is very very very tenuous and it all comes down to the lyric: “look to the future now it’s only just begun”.

Anyway the second song was Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade

[identity profile] saintvic.livejournal.com
Well I struggled and struggled about what to do for this especially as I do not have a happy relationship with deadlines. After lots of false starts I decided to steal an idea from a meme that went round a while back and listen to some songs for inspiration.

So I picked a few Christmas songs and listened to them until they gave me ideas for a couple of mini Pros fics it was three until this afternoon when one imploded on me and the deadline loomed. The ideas could come from the title, the tune, a line, all the lyrics, basically whatever struck me.

I have put each ficlet in its own post so I can easily put the trailer after each story.

The first song was Do they know it’s Christmas? - Band Aid

Happy December 14th everyone! I've put a little something in the Christmas stocking!

Go under the cut the see the goodie *g*... )
[identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com
I don't know if I've ever done a middle-of-challenge mod post for a Winter/Christmas/Solstice/Let's-Have-Light challenge before, but here I am... *g*

We seem to have missed our Stocking post for 13th December - which might be another first... *g* - and a convergence of various things means I didn't catch it in time! (That'll teach me to go to London for the weekend!)

First a reminder - and I don't think I remembered to put this in my original post, so mea culpa - posting times for this challenge are a bit different to normal, we don't run on Pago-Pago time, because it would be too complicated with people from all over the world needing to post (think of the difference between Australian time and west coast American time, for example). So a reminder to everyone: your posting time runs from a minute after midnight in your day until midnight that night - GMT! Lad's Time! British Time! Please don't post after that, because you'll be running into someone else's day!

That said - I'm not sure what happened yesterday, because we have two people posting, one of whom I think is west coast America, so I'm not sure whether the day's been missed completely, or whether they're still hoping to post. So...

Could either [livejournal.com profile] tears_of_nienna or [livejournal.com profile] squeeful comment here to let me know what's up - before you make any post to the comm!

And [livejournal.com profile] ankaree, it's technically your day now, but since you're in a similar time zone (I think!) - is there any chance the others could squeeze in their post if they need to? If not it's okay, we'll perhaps keep it as extra content for the end of the challenge if that's okay with everyone all around...

If anyone is going to have problems posting, do let me know and I can put up some extra content for the day - there's all sorts of things that come up at this time of year, so there's no worries about it! My email is on the user info page!

I am so excited to be posting this, by kind permission of the author...

A Birdwatcher's Guide to Cornish Ghosts has been one of my favourite Pros fics ever since I found Pros fandom. It's got lads that are so recognisably my lads - despite the fact that they're also AU historical lads - a setting that is beyond gorgeous, atmosphere in every single word of the story, plots and movement and... and best of all, it's got the sheer joy that is Bodie/Doyle.

And now, after over a year of the final chapter being zine-only, it's all online.

Hurrah!

So please - download, print out, find something nice to drink and somewhere cosy to curl up:
