Discovered in a Livejournal

Thank you everyone who took part in Discovered in a Winter Holiday! In the depths of winter, we had three new Pros stories, and a flurry of seven inspiring pictures to keep us going!

They're all "archived" via the discoveredinalj User Info page - click on the banners to find all the posts made for the Winter Holiday Challenge. Hopefully authors and artists will archive elsewhere too, so that all the lovely Pros is safe for people to find another day.

It was great to jet away with the lads (feels especially great now!), but I'd say spring is definitely here now, so watch this space... *g*

Sneaking in on the extra last day of February and the challenge, having snatched half an hour over coffee together, one day in London... *g*

Winter Delight

“A winter holiday?” Bodie tore the end of a packet of sugar, let it slide into his coffee, and reached for another one. “You and me? No birds? Just us?”

“Well I know you’d rather have a bit of sun, sea, sand an’ …” Doyle looked down his nose at the sugar, then poured two into his own cup when he thought Bodie might be looking at the waitress currently pouring a desultory coffee for a bloke at the far table. “Maybe not a hundred per cent holiday, to be fair. Could have to pick up a package for the Old Man while we’re there. But we’d get some time to ourselves as well.”

I think I'm not the only person around here in the northern hemisphere craving a bit of sunshine about now, and it occured to me that our lads might fancy getting away from it all at this time of year too. Maybe we can help them, with a new discoveredinalj challenge?

Through the cold months of January (okay, what's left of it *g*) and February, let's see how many lads-and-winter-holiday posts we can create! Stories (long and short), drabbles, poems, pictures, thoughts and meanderings, and any other creative thing is welcome! Whatever you're inspired to create would be fab. And the lads don't have to go on a winter holiday - as long as there's the idea of a winter holiday in there somewhere, that's all we ask. *g* Perhaps they do get away from it all to the sunshine - or perhaps they don't make it any further than Margate. Perhaps it's not them on a winter holiday at all - it could be Cowley, or the Minister, or the villains. The winter holiday could be somewhere hot and sunny - or it could be somewhere covered in snow (or if they're really unlucky, rain... *g*)

And if you would like a prompt to help you along, then let me know in a comment, and I will assign you a random country to somehow include in your creation. It would also be cool if you let us know in a comment whether you might try to join in - because looking forward to things is half the fun, right? *g*

Make your post to the community any time between now and the end of February. The posting deadline is midnight in your own time zone (or if you're right on the edge, then feel free to use Pago Pago time *g*) on 29th February - hey, we get an extra day to do it. Don't forget to use an lj-cut for stories after the first couple of paragraphs, but if you're posting pics then feel free to leave them outside a cut (unless there's dozens, I guess *g*) because it's nice to see them in our flists!

Finally, please remember that we use trailers here at discoveredinalj - the format can be found on the User Info page for copying-and-pasting, and it goes at the end of your post under a cut so that no one's spoilered if they don't want to be.
