And our first challenge post is non-fiction, that hardly ever happens! *g*

Hmmn - perhaps you could add that Charlie was shot in the left lung (may survive)

Also "Jack" in LAA was shot in the stomach and Doyle wavers his hand about his chances, I seem to recall...

Um, Jack with the stomach shot was in Fugitive. The guy who got shot off the roof in Look After Annie was named Turner.

That'll teach me to post in a rush - I'd only looked it up for the challenge post last night as well! *g*

Bodie was stapped in both kidneys in Klansmen and Murphy got a bullet in the shoulder in Foxhole on the roof although this was probably not a "serious" injury.

Ok, than I guess Murph doesn't count. But Bodie definitely does, right?

Do they say both his kidneys were injured in canon?
I must have missed that completely (I have to admit to FF through the hospital scenes in that ep quite a bit).

He definitely gets two stabs low in the back, one left one right.

Right, but does the doctor specify anything in particular?
Could be that any internal organs were missed and he has an infection from a dirty knife. His main problem seems to be a fever, and he'd have to be in IC with both his kidneys injured, I think, not just having a nurse hold his hand.

Could be yes could be no. It's not specified. As for the infection - might have come a bit too fast after the stabbing. He was already half delirious when brought into the hospital. And the knives had long enough blades and the positions where right too. If no organs had been injured I don't think he would have gotten down that fast from mere flesh wounds. And infections don't start within seconds.

Whatever the matter I think he deserves to be on the list for serious injuries.

I thought it was shock that had him down and sweating. Knife wounds, even if no internal organs are hit, are nothing to cough at.
How many days do you think he was in hospital?
I always get confused at the timelines. Doyle's face was still in bad shape when he was released, but I'm not sure how much time passed between Bodie getting stabbed and Doyle getting beat up.

And yes, I think it was supposed to be a serious injury, though not necessarily life threatening.

No idea about the time line either. So much happened in between that it could have easily been a week or more. I still stick to the kidneys but they might have only slightly punctured which should suffice for terrible pain and a high fever. Guess we will not be able to find out for exactly what happened so we can only guess and every guess is as good as the other.

Exactly. As long as they don't mention a specific diagnosis in canon, it can be taken in any direction.
That's why I asked if they mentioned anything in the show, since I'd never heard the kidney reference. Thought I'd missed it.
