Here's a little 100 word drabble from the lads. Merry Christmas!

"It's your birthday tomorrow isn't it, sunshine?" Ray looked across at his partner.

"Hmmm," replied Bodie, sounding bored, "and here we are on yet another bloody forty-eight hour stake out." 

"Why didn't your mum call you Noel or summat Christmassy instead, then? It's the day before Christmas Eve. "

"Named after the three wise men, wasn't I," came the languid reply.

"Nah, come on. Tell."

"S'true. Three Kings and all that. Nobody knows their real names, do they, Goldilocks. So regal names it was."

Doyle sniggered, "Ah well, could be worse. Y'could have ended up being called Rudolf or Cherubim."

I need a swashbuckling icon. And yes - that would be interesting... although - a crossover fanfic of a re-telling of a classic story... Hmmn! *vbg*

Oh yes, your sad Pros fic! I've been curious actually - there are two Ghost and Doyle Pros fics in the fandom already, did they inspire you to write your own, or is it just that the story's so good (I love it myself - I grew up with the tv series of The Ghost and Mrs Muir) you were inspired? *g*

And sorry - my mind went straight to KJ Charles Henchmen of Zenda when you typed Rassendyll!

Well, I didn't know about the other two G&MrDs. Wasn't it you who told me about the one zine? I'm curious but I want to finish this before I read anyone else's take on it.

How did I reinvent this particular wheel? I can"t remember. I've been working through various tropes, and I guess it was turn for an AU. Apparently there are no other Leslie Ghost novel fandom works on AO3 since I made the only tag. Bodie makes a lovely Captain, though. Wish I was enough of an artist to do the portrait.

Funny, it was published the year Shaw was born.

No, if you've not already read them then I wouldn't until I'd finished writing either!

There is soooo much Pros fanfic that's not on A03 that it's ridiculous. Well - more than thirty years worth of people writing the stuff, and Pros used to be a much bigger fandom! *g* Honestly, the Pros fic on A03 is a drop in the ocean!

There's The Ghost and Mr Doyle by Gena Fisher, in the "Remember This: Pros Movie Night" zine, and there's The Ghost and Raymond Doyle by Barbara Thomas, in the Unprofessional Conduct 5 zine. I think they're both on the ProsLib CD (which is worth getting if you don't have it yet). I wish I had my palelyloitering website up and running again, I'd send you links!

How on earth do you remember which zines things were printed in. I can barely remember titles! In fact, mostly I don't and just refer to a story in the manner, 'you know, the one where Doyle was a trapeze artist in a circus'................

I think it's age related........

It's a knack. Lately I get half way into a sentence about an author and lose the name! Age. Not my favorite thing. Still, better than NOT aging, I keep telling myself.

To be fair, I did run a Pros website that was all about Pros zines (and stories in general), and I own hundreds of the things (ooh, I'm about to be able to unpack them from my storage on Saturday - how exciting!). And I do lots of Pros re-reading... *g* But I must admit that in this case I went and checked the local version of my palelyloitering website..! *vbg*
