I can’t get over the way he looked at me. 
Christ, the anger in his face! 
I know he thinks I let him down, but I'll talk to him. 
I'll explain. I’ll make him see I was just following Cowley's orders. 
I had to, didn’t I? Didn’t have any choice. 
Could hardly have gone on the bloody run with him, could I? 
He thinks I don’t care. If only he knew! 
Doesn’t realise what it was like for me, does he, having to watch him go all secretive over Miss bloody Germany.
Maybe it's time I told him the truth.
