Drabble that's all Rebel's fault. . .

Okay, so technically I wrote it, but Rebel used the puppy eyes of doom on me! I was almost helpless in their thrall.
Ahem. With profound apologies to the late Quentin Crisp for nicking his title.
The Naked Civil Servant
Cowley wasn't a fool. He'd seen enough careers ruined by just the semblance of an abuse of power. He knew the differences between them in class, social standing, and the simple chain of command made their relationship wrong even if both of them weren't men.
Moreover, their choice of venue wasn't just illicit but illegal. His office, where Her Majesty's business was carried out, hardly qualified as the private environs homosexuality was banished to by law.
Cowley sipped his single malt. Perhaps he was a fool, he thought. But he wasn't a coward.
His door opened.
"George."
Cowley smiled. "Minister."

Date: 2007-09-23 12:53 am (UTC)Cowley's handicap
Date: 2007-09-23 03:33 am (UTC)Yes, Cowley deserves much loving. Unfortunately, there are so many other men (mostly characters) I must torture first, but hopefully someone will provide.
Thanks for your support of The Worship the Cow Foundation (tax receipts available).
Cowley's handicap - Love at hole 19
Date: 2007-09-24 11:02 pm (UTC)After all, it would be lovely if after years of secret loving, the Minister eventually became PM. Cowley would then become his éminence grise and rebuild the British Empire.
Some day in the near future the fic will be there, I'm sure (takes tax receipt - gives to tax adviser)

Date: 2007-09-23 03:53 am (UTC)You know my dedication to the love that dare not speak its name in Whitehall. But long, sordid fics will have to wait until I finish all the other long, sordid fics in S&H, MfU, DS9 etc. etc. Okay, maybe it can sneak ahead of one of the DS9 fics. :-)
Thank you for encouraging my sordid love of Cowley/Minister. Dare I one day dream of Cowley/Prime Minister?

Date: 2007-09-23 03:37 am (UTC)Of course, it's "Minister". Cowley is the sub in that relationship. Although I pictured this particular incident as a wee bit of Afternoon Delight. :-)
Thanks for the feedback.

Date: 2007-09-23 03:45 am (UTC)I really hope there's more someday. The Cow so needs to be worshiped. Unfortunately, there are other characters who are ahead of the line for loving up, but maybe one day.

Free bunny to good home. :-)

Thanks for your lovely feedback.

Date: 2007-09-24 03:33 am (UTC)Yes, Cowley deserves to be worship-- I mean loved. And yes, he does strike me as one of those people that almost never stops thinking. I like to believe that whoever he's with (say, the Minister) considers this a challenge to be extra creative. Hmmm, perhaps this is why the office environment was chosen. . .
Thanks for your delightful feedback.

Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed playing here.

Date: 2007-09-24 10:43 pm (UTC)Now that can only be good, can't it?
If I paired the Cow with a minister it would have to be the one I call the cuddly minister. The one from ITPI. :)
