I haven't read or commented yet on so many stories because I've been working frantically on my own (I'll get to it--I swear!).  Luckily, I finished in time.

I loved this to bits, thank you - I read it last night, then failed at the whole comment thing - please to blame the new year booze *g*

First meetings between Bodie and Doyle hold a fascination for me, and I really like your version - it rings so true and sounds just like them. Plus tender Doyle at the end... ::happy sigh::
