I haven't read or commented yet on so many stories because I've been working frantically on my own (I'll get to it--I swear!).  Luckily, I finished in time.  

For your reading pleasure, I give you Four Things Bodie Forgot (and One He Didn't).  It's holiday tinged, yet covers a lot of ground overall.  My prompts were champagne and Christmas crackers.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to callistosh65 and przed.  I hope you like it.

An, that was a nice story. I liked the progression from young Bodie to Bodie and Doyle getting together. I especially liked the section where Bodie is scoping out Doyle at training, and decides that Doyle looks like a good choice for the hand-to-hand session. It was a nice look into Bodie's life before CI5 and then his partnership with Doyle. And of course, the final part which gave us a nice hot time between the lads. Thanks!

I liked this very much - I'm very interested in Bodie when he was young and I thought that the part of your story in which you addressed that, was very realistic. I certainly could "see" both boys in my mind. I also like the style you used, with discrete parts of his life highlighted in each section. Thanks for writing and posting this!

Ah, now that's a nice way to spend New Year's Eve! (Um, reading, I mean, although the way Bodie and Doyle are spending it in your story is also nice.... Uh, I'll shut up now.) Lovely! I like the progression very much. Love the reasons why Bodie wants to choose Doyle, and Doyle going along with it. Love a drunk Bodie. He's very...earnest in a way, isn't he? *g* Love Doyle having no experience, being up front about that, and telling Bodie he'd better not tease him about it. *g*

Loved this, too: Doyle took it, like he took him. Like he accepted all of Bodie--his cynicism, his insecurities, his playfulness, his rage.

Happy New Year right back at you. :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed the story.

I was particularly fond of drunk Bodie, myself. Earnest is certainly one way to describe him. I was going for "careful" in the way he moves, in the way he chooses his words. He feels as if he has screwed up royally already and now he doesn't have his usual arsenal of weapons (sharp tongue, keen mind, partner at his side) to see him through. And he definitely wants to see things through, and try and fix matters with Ray. It would be an entirely different matter if he hadn't given a toss.

Now off to read your story (stories?)! I can't wait. :-)

A compelling progression, history, plot, anticipation, and the ultimate delectable climax. I'm particularly fond of tipsy Bodie pleased with his internal rhyming scheme, a thoroughly in-character occurence, I ween. Doyle's intensity was a well-measured balancing factor.

Right you are, tis TwelveTide Eighth Day. As in "Eight Maids a Milking." Little giftees of cheese and milk chocolate today. To go with travel south of the border yesterday for New Year's tamales. Rough being an American mutt, eh? So many different excuses to party hearty [heh heh heh.] Much prefer the southwestern tradition of tamales over the southeastern tradition of turnip greens on New Year's for luck. [confesses to not liking turnip greens, blech.]

I love this, just love it. It works so well. I'm a sucker for a good story that flashes back to Bodie the tyke in Liverpool, and then takes us through to his life with Doyle. You know already that my favourite part is the last part - the sex is hot, and your drunk Bodie is a delight. I giggled and wanted to hug him constantly.

Very hard to pick out a favourite line, but this is so very Bodie:
"Oh come on, Doyle. You must know what you're like. All eyes and hair and boneless grace. You're decorative, petal. Always have been."

Just wicked.*g*

And I love that moment on the floor at the end, when Doyle just holds Bodie.
Oh, the whole thing is terrific, An. Just not so long between stories now, okay??

You know, I find it easier to get inside Bodie's head (which is no doubt obvious, as all four of my posted stories are from his POV), but I kind of like writing Ray's scorching tongue and trying to balance that with some unexpected gentleness from him, particularly towards Bodie. The yin/yang of it is appealing.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and thanks again for your CRAZY, WONDERFUL help with it. I don't know that I've ever had a beta turn around a story in less than fifteen minutes. :-)

I really enjoyed this - I like the "Five things" format and this one is excellent. Nice glimpse of Bodie's younger life, seeing why he felt compelled to leave home; just a restlessness, rather than an abusive parent. And the teasing banter when he first meets Doyle just sets the scene for their whole relationship! Thanks for posting.

I'd gotten through two parts, then found myself busy with other things. With the holiday challenge I thought it might be time to polish off the old thing and see if I couldn't complete it. First meetings between Bodie and Doyle hold a fascination for me, and I really like your version - it rings so true and sounds just like them. Plus tender Doyle at the end... ::happy sigh::

Oh, I really enjoyed this. I love the idea of our Bodie picking out who he sees as the best, and only the best for our Bodie.
I really enjoyed the whole bit from when the doorbell rang at two in the morning, and how it panned out too.
And boy, oh boy, wasn't that last bit hot. It was so well written I could almost feel Bodie's hair catching on the paintwork around the door frame as he moved.
I loved the end. Doyle cradling Bodie running his fingers through his hair. That just doesn't happen enough in fic I think. I mostly read it the other way around. So thank you for that, and thank you for sharing this story.

Oh, I'm so glad you liked it. Thank you! I've been playing a bit with having Ray's words (typically pretty fierce) and his actions (far gentler--particularly with Bodie) work in opposition. One of the things I love best about Doyle is his temper, yet he's not a cruel man. Most especially when it comes to his partner. :-) So, I'm very pleased you liked that last bit.

Oh, I've just got to this, and thank goodness I did! It's wonderful,
so much lovely context and then the drop-dead gorgeous end scene! Doyle lowering Bodie to the floor will definitely be one of my all-time favourite fic images, it's scrummy ... and I agree with crimson_37 that we don't see Bodie on the end of tenderness often enough. Also really liked your Bodie as young scally ... you should do a similar take on Doyle, y'know, that'd be cool *g*
