I've created a Spotify playlist containing all of the Christmas and otherwise seasonal songs that reached the top 10 on the UK charts between 1975 (Bodie and Doyle are paired) and 1984 (ten years later).

It wasn't entirely easy to tell which songs charted because of the time of year, but I did my best. Let me know if you see that I left anything out. I've included the Power of Love by Frankie Goes to Hollywood even though the band says it was not intended as a Christmas song, since I know people treat it as one.

ETA: Also, I forgot to say that there were two hits that would have been part of the list but were unavailable on Spotify: Renta Santa (1975) and Bionic Santa (1976) both by Chris Hill. They are more short musical sketches than songs.

It's about to turn midnight in Ladsland, so the window to make a post with your interpretation of the coloring page is now closed. Never fear, though. If you didn't get a chance to share, you can include your image in a reply to this post any time you want. Alternatively, you can make a post featuring your creation on December 25th or January 1st, which are free posting days.

Thank you to everyone who participated. Check out the results here:

I hoped to color the page by hand, but unexpected family responsibilities and a spell of illness kind of ate last week, so I am posting these digital efforts that I made while working on the page.

I did these using various tools and effects. I wouldn't be able to name them all now for any money.

Today is the day to share your interpretation of the Pros Christmas coloring page I posted last week. Just make a post featuring your creation in the Discovered in a LJ comm within the next 24 hours (i.e. while it's still December 16th in Ladsland). If you like, you can also tell us what you imagine is behind the picture. Why is Bodie wearing the elf hat?

As I said before, this is more a make-your-own-art page than strictly a coloring page. All interpretations are welcome, traditional or digital.

(I've disabled comments so people won't post their coloring in this thread. Please make your own post so it's easier for everyone to find it. If you have questions, you can send me a direct message.)

I hoped to have a vid to post today, but the idea I had didn't work out, so I made this instead:

Ray Doyle wearing a headband with red and black check reindeer antlers attached.

Merry (fourth day of) Christmas, all.

I wrote a tiny fic.

Realism

"Think there'll be snow this Christmas, Bodie?"

“In London?”

“It could happen.”

“Ray, it never even rains here—what makes you think it would snow?”

That’s right, it’s a quarter drabble, and if I don’t stop writing now, the commentary will be longer than the

I told [livejournal.com profile] golden_bastet that I would likely not write a fic for this challenge, but it seems that I have. And here it is.

George Cowley's past and present meet on New Year's Eve.

Black Bun, White Paper

We are working late tonight, my top agents and I. I know they are disappointed that they'll not be kissing their current young ladies at midnight. I would have spared them that pleasure if I could, though I doubt they'd believe it at the moment. It couldn't be helped, however. This case had to be wrapped up, whatever prior commitments there might be.

My office is in silence, but for the hazy noise of traffic, when I hear the bell towers of this city begin to toll twelve.

Mouse Picnic: or, What Not to Do With Photoshop

Just in case my previous offering was not seasonal (or weird) enough for you, let me present this photo manipulation. I made it one evening at the end of November, and I have been holding it in reserve in case my vid wasn't ready to post today.

The image of the Lads is from the scene in Blood Sports where they are looking under a car. I've always thought that, based on their expressions, they should be looking at something a lot more interesting than a bomb inside a cigarette pack.

Just a Little Light: or, In Which Bodie is as Mighty as a Flower

This vid features the song "Just a Little Light" by The Grateful Dead.

I am not a particular fan of The Grateful Dead, but the moment I heard this song, I wanted to make it into a fanvid. And I thought the vid would be a fitting contribution to our celebration of the returning light, as well as our observance of gift-giving festivals.
